Sergiyev Posad’s newly formed record collectors club on the day of its launch at the Gorlvosky library. A story told by the club’s founder Yelena Sharova, library staff and its readers. It’s interesting to know that there are nearly 3000 vynil records of different genres and origin stored at the library’s archives. Thank you archive.org and freesound.org (jackgarrison).

  1. Nice post and mix. I don´t understand Russian but the old music in the background, I really love it.
This post remind me I own at last two old Russian vinyl records. One of them is original 45rpm LP from 1959 with the fabulous Red Army Choir.

  2. It’s funny how this rare old record has made its way to Iceland. Nice to know that you like it. I bet it has a lot of hiss and crackle too. And thank you for your comment.

  3. This is a most original post Vladimir. I stretched my limited knowledge of the Russian language to the limit but could still only pick up only a few words. The music though is a universal language. I have an eclectic collection of Russian music CD’s which I collected while I was there and they always conjure up a special Russian atmosphere for me. This is a really innovative post which I’ve much enjoyed. Thank you.
